My name is Christabel Antoinet,a Ghanaian but currently living and studying in Ukraine. I have been natural for 5 years now. Going natural in the first place was not my idea. Immediately after senior high school,my hairdresser suggested that i keep my hair natural because I wouldn’t  regret it. i was reluctant at first but i took her advice but my mother and big brothers were against it.They complained daily, requesting that i add relaxing cream to it whenever they saw me combing my hair. Day in day out, they kept on comparing me to my classmates saying my natural hair looked unkempt. Friends kept telling me my hair is too difficult to handle so i should stop stressing myself and perm it but i didn’t listen because i loved the fact that i was the only one with natural hair amongst them. I felt unique.
Staying natural hasn’t been easy but i believe that i derive the strength to continue keeping natural hair from the amount of love I have for my hair. Even though most hair tutorials (eg.bantu knot) on you tube does not work effectively on my hair, my hair can surely do other unique hairstyles–that’s just the versatility of natural hair in general. Now my mother and brothers are so in love with my hair and are happy about how it turned out. I haven’t really discovered any specific hair recipes for my type of hair because its quite difficult to come across natural hair products in my current location. I only oil my hair to prevent drying and deep condition it sometimes. Going natural is one of the best decisions i have ever made and i proud of myself for maintaining it because now most of my friends are on low cut, starting all over again but thank GOD i made that decision 5 years ago.

All the best in your hair journey my natural hair sisters.
