      Hi Mareline,

Thank you for reading my article, castor oil is a little heavy but you can use it a styling oil for your maintenance. Make sure you use a clarifying shampoo to help prevent build up. Also make sure your using a high quality, pure castor oil. Good Luck!

Thank you for this info . I have two of these items in my house .

  • Thanks for the info. I did the big chop 2/28/14 because of severe hair breakage. I went back to my beautician for an edge up and she trimmed it again and suggested I get a color and OMG. I HATED IT. That was 4/16/14. I started putting a black rinse on it 4 days later. I like the freedom of just kind of combing and going, but its getting hard to manage because of this dryness. I reallyy don’t want to go back to a perm or a curl relaxer that she suggested.HELP!

      Hi Brenda,

Thank you for reading my article, it sounds like your hair is dry because of the color. Try doing a deep conditioning steam treatment once a month and use a leave-in conditioner on a regular basis. Color can be drying to the hair and even rinses may cause changes to your hair. Go above and beyond your normal conditioning regimen. Best of Luck!
