I became natural during college after inspiration from my roommate. I have always had thick “healthy hair” but i wasn’t happy because I spent too much time in the salon and it was taking a lot out of my pocket. I wanted to grow out my natural hair with my obsession with colour. I big chop December 14 2011. Maintenance of colour treated hair is not an easy road. It requires a lot of time and patience, with many set backs from dryness and breakage.
I maintain my colour treated natural hair with a:
1. weekly home made deep conditioner (egg, mayo, honey, aloe, and my conditioner at the time then heat it before applying).
2. I wash my hair with creme of nature argan oil sulfate free shampoo once a month.
3. Co wash with suave coconut conditioner.
4. I use Cantu Shea butter leave in conditioner .
5. I have a mixer of oils that I used nothing special..
I became natural to save money so I really don’t use the latest or more expensive products I just use what works for me.
If someone should ask me what colour I use I cannot answer that question, my hair colour is a trial n error process but I never used bleach.
Colouring process:
Box dye with Creme of nature honey blonde.
Rinse: Red hot, Ruby red, Wine colour
home made deep conditioner
