I decided to go natural when I found out that I had Alopecia due to the hair loss I was experiencing. I did not embrace being natural at first because I had to cut off all my hair and I thought I looked like a boy. But slowly over time , I truly begin to really love my low natural hair cut. I have played with my natural hair color by dying it purple as well as had blond highlights! I rock braids as a protective style and currently have a mohawk. I think we as black women have been conditioned to feel like our hair in it’s natural state is not beautiful, but I can tell you that it is so freeing to just be you. The most important thing is that you can switch up your natural hair styles and color to add variety of being YOUR beautiful.
