The Lady Gaga Bow Tie Hair Bun
I’m sure girls were rocking the bow tie hair bun well before Lady Gaga, but you will remember the eccentric artist wear a massive bow on her head than the common Jane Doe would, yes?
The bow tie is an adorable hair style that can be wore with any texture of hair. It is expressive, creative and just delightful to look at!
More important it is incredibly simple to do. And it can even be done on short natural hair.
All it requires is your hair (or most of you hair) being in a small bun or ponytail. If your hair is too short, see about getting in corn rowed or twisted into a bun. If so, a bow tie can still be achieved.
Assuming you have medium or short hair, you will need some extensions to achieve this cute look. You can use any type of extension you’d like, though I recommend synthetic Marley or Afro Kinky hair. You will also need several bobby pins.
Steps to Achieve the Bow Tie Bun
- Get all your natural hair (or long Box/Senegalese/micro braided hair) in a bun or pony tail.
- Attach the synthetic hair with a ponytail holder to the bun you just made.
- Optional: Wrap a few pieces of the extra hair around the bun.
- Split the synthetic hair in half. Leave a small piece of hair in the middle.
- Roll one side into a bun towards the initial bun and secure it with a bobby pin. Repeat on the opposite side.
- Wrap the middle free hair in between the two secured buns. Secure in the back. Either wrap any left over hair around the bun or cut it.
