My Name is Marva Langevine, from  Guyana, in South America. My mother decided to perm my hair for the first time when i was 12 because it was too “fuzzy”.  In 2012  my friend Zoe, who is a model, encouraged me to go natural and i fell in love with my natural hair for the first time. For the new year I once again did a perm, the very next week i went to the barber and shaved it all off.  I have been rocking a low cut ever since and loving it!

Now I am a delegate in a local African Guyanese pageant, Miss Emancipation 2014, and this year’s theme is “go natural”. This journey has made me fall in love with my natural beauty all over again.
