It’s no secret that coconut oil is an amazing oil for natural hair. It nourishes, conditions, repairs and provides shine to natural hair textures.
But coconut milk, the other liquid component from coconuts, is a much lighter option from this viscous oily cousin, making it a more ideal detangler for the curliest hair types.
Coconut milks does everything that coconut oil does. The only difference is it’s a milk and is much lighter for people do not enjoy their hair being too oily. As wonderful as coconut oil is, it is quite thick. Because of that, too much use could clog pores and end up doing more harm than good.
An ideal way to make a coconut milk detangler is add your favorite oils to an applicator bottle at a 3:1 ratio (3 parts milk, 1 part oil). Apply the mix evenly over your hair and gently using a wide tooth comb or your fingers, detangle your hair in sections.
