Ahmad “Real” Givens Of Vh1’s “I Love New York” Dies of Cancer

When you see his face, you will know who I’m referring to!

Sadly, Ahmad “Real” Givens died of  colon cancer earlier today. He was only 33.

The GORGEOUS young man first appeared on the scene as a contestant on the first series of “I Love New York.” He was joined on the show with his younger brother Kamal “Chance” Givens. Chance gave his brother a tearful tribute earlier today.

Ahmad came off as humble and respectful towards Tiffany “New York” Pollard, the damsel in distress on “I Love New York.”

And yes! He had that luscious beautiful, curly 4A-B long healthy hair! He would even joke about how surprised his curls managed to get keep growing after his chemo treatments.

He had been battling complications of stage 4 colon cancer since January 2013. After being misdiagnosed multiple times due to flu symptoms, he and his mother received the tragic news that he did indeed have cancer.

He chronicled his bout with chemotherapy and treatments on his Instagram account and Twitter for several months. It was refreshing to see him upbeat and positive, even when he knew his time was very limited.

He received tons of prayers and well wishes on social media. Old competitor Patrick “Tango” Hunter gave Givens a shoutout on Twitter, as did Pollard and plenty of news sources.

Outside of “I Love New York,” Givens was a rapper, actor, entrepreneur and huge fan of horses since he and his family lived on a farm during his upbringing.

Givens is survived by his beautiful wife and son and plenty of loving family and fans.
