Atlanta, GA music lovers are in for a treat on August 1st when Joe, Ruben Studdard, Tevin Campbell, Mystikal, and Adina Howard take to the stage at Wolf Creek Amphitheater.
Seven-time Grammy Award nominee and multi-platinum selling R&B singer/songwriter/producer Joe with his Top 5 R&B/Top 40 pop hit “Don’t Wanna Be a Player” and Top 5 R&B/Top 20 pop hit “All the Things Your Man Won’t Do” from his breakthrough album All That I Am remains one of R&B’s most accomplished and popular artists. With his sultry vocals, Joe continues to raise the bar as he continuously receives industry accolades while supplying his loyal fan base with a stream of good music. His eleventh studio album, Bridges, debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart and features soulful tracks about various types of romantic relationships. Released on June 24, 2014, its lead single, “Love & Sex, Pt. 2” featuring Kelly Rowland, peaked at #10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart. Joe’s soulful vocals and inviting grooves makes him the perfect headliner for this wonderful line-up of artists.
Platinum-selling and Grammy Award Nominated singer, Ruben Studdard has released five albums since his winning the second season of American Idol in May 2013. Fans will remember his first full CD, “Soulful”, released in December 2003 which still holds the record as the highest debut of any American Idol Winner with over 400,000 copies. According to his bio, the single “Sorry 2004” from this album reached #9 in the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Billboard R&B singles chart. Studdard’s songs and albums continued to chart with his gospel CD, “I Need An Angel” entering the Gospel charts at #1, opening at #20 on the Billboard 200 chart, being #1 on the 2005 Billboard Year-End Gospel Albums Chart, and listed at #11 on its “End of Decade’ Gospel Albums Chart. Studdard has added acting to his resume with roles on the television series 8 Simple Rules, Life on a Stick, All of Us, and Eve, a cameo appearance in the film Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, and a few others. His addition to this show is the perfect ingredient for this spicy musical recipe.
Double-platinum selling artist, Tevin Campbell splashed on the scene at a tender age and impressed music lovers with his debut single “Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me)” which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles chart. And of course, fans remember Campbell’s first solo hit, “Round and Round”, which charted at #3 on R&B charts in November 1990 and #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1991. Although this R&B fave has not released any new music in a few years, he has been a featured artist on music by Quincy Jones, Full Force, and BMU. Mystikal released his debut album Mystikal in 1994 and has since released several more. He recently performed “Feel Right” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show with Mark Ronson and commanded the stage at the 2015 Essence Music Festival. He was quoted in Rolling Stones magazine saying “The opportunities are so vast and the machine is primed and running. All you have to do is put me in front of the people and put the beat in front of me, and the rest is history.” His unique musical flavor and classics are sure to please attendees.
Everyone remembers singer and songwriter Adina Howard’s rise to fame during the mid-1990s with her debut album, Do You Wanna Ride?, and debut single, “Freak Like Me”. Howard who has continued to release new music and added acting and going to culinary school to her list of activities will set the tone for this upcoming event.
Atlanta based comedian, MC Lightfoot, who has toured with and opened for some of the biggest names in entertainment such as Frankie Beverly and Maze, The O’Jays, Temptations, Angie Stone, Anthony Hamilton, Calvin Richardson and more will also join the aforementioned for this show that will surely sell out.
